It joins established standards such as MIFARE Plus, MIFARE DESFire, and MIFARE Ultralight. The new standard stands out from its predecessors with a unique approach to security: it is the first on the market to combine <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"342\">asymmetric and symmetric cryptography<\/b> within a single microprocessor chip.  <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">Thanks to extended encryption while simultaneously simplifying key and certificate management, MIFARE DUOX offers the highest level of protection, confirmed by the <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"173\">CC EAL6+<\/b> certificate. This solution ensures high performance and security while maintaining relatively low implementation costs. <\/p>\n<h2>From Automotive to Access Control Systems<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">The DUOX technology was originally created with the aim of securing modern vehicles and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. We are observing an interesting evolution here: while in the past, solutions from access control systems found their way into the automotive industry, today, advanced automotive security measures\u2014after proper adaptation\u2014are returning to building systems. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">The MIFARE DUOX standard is a very fresh solution. NXP released the first information in November 2024, and by July 2025, the full technical documentation was published. <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"186\">IFTER <\/b>reacted instantly to these changes by implementing the new standard in its latest line of <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"292\">EQU-R500<\/b> readers.  <\/p>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"10\">EQU-R500 Series Readers: Security Without Compromise<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\">When designing the new series of readers, our priority was to combine reliability, durability, and the highest standards of data protection.<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"12\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">OSDP 2.2 Protocol<\/b>: All devices use the modern, bidirectional OSDP 2.2 protocol as standard, which ensures encrypted data transmission between the reader and the controller (RS485 interface).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Discontinuation of Wiegand<\/b>: Although we offer support for the older Wiegand standard, we do so only upon the client&#8217;s express request. As an unsecured solution, it is not recommended by us. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Individual Encryption<\/b>: Each reader has a unique identifier and a MAC address verified during initialization. At that point, encryption keys specific to the given site are uploaded. Any attempt to use an unauthorized device immediately triggers an alarm.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Protection of Sensitive Data<\/b>: Card identifiers are protected using the OSDP-SC method and AES-128 encryption. Crucially, session keys are changed after every operation, which prevents eavesdropping or &#8220;interception&#8221; of the transmission by third parties. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,4,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Full Customer Control<\/b>: IFTER does not store its clients&#8217; encryption keys. Every user generates and manages them independently, which eliminates the risk of external data leakage. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Durability and design for mission-critical tasks<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">The design of the <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"20\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ifter.com.pl\/en\/produkt\/equ-r502-mifare-duox-credential-reader\/\">EQU-R500<\/a><\/b> family (similar to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ifter.com.pl\/en\/produkt\/equ-r402-access-control-reader\/\">EQU-R400<\/a>) has been engineered to operate in the most extreme conditions. We have eliminated all mechanical elements \u2013 you will not find physical buttons, DIP switches, or traditional screw terminals here that could fail or corrode. <\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"4\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Hermetic sealing (IP65)<\/b>: The electronics are fully encapsulated in durable epoxy resin, which, combined with an optical tamper sensor, allows for operation in high-humidity environments.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Thermal resistance<\/b>: The devices operate stably within a wide temperature range: <b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"82\">from -40\u00b0C to +70\u00b0C<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Composite housing<\/b>: We use carbon fiber-reinforced PET-G. It ensures exceptional resistance to impact, scratches, water, and UV radiation. The thickness of the multi-layer construction exceeds 10 mm.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Capacitive keypad<\/b>: Versions with a keypad allow operation with both bare hands and thick work gloves.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Overview of the EQU-R500 series models<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Below is a summary of the key solutions within the new product family:<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"7\">Access control and programming<\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"8\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">EQU-R500<\/b>: Desktop reader with a USB interface. Used for programming MIFARE DUOX cards (issuing encrypted identifiers) and verifying the identity of management system operators. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ifter.com.pl\/en\/produkt\/equ-r502-mifare-duox-credential-reader\/\">EQU-R502<\/a><\/b>: Classic wall-mounted reader with OSDP 2.2 protocol. Available in versions with or without a keypad, equipped with three colored LEDs and a buzzer. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,2,0\">EQU-R503: &#8220;Design&#8221; model with a glass front. Offers full visual personalization \u2013 from the company logo to any color scheme and graphics, while maintaining high mechanical resistance thanks to a protective composite frame. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"9\">Multimedia solutions: EQU-R505<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">This is the most advanced model in the offer, equipped with a <b data-path-to-node=\"10\" data-index-in-node=\"58\">4.3&#8243; display and a built-in camera<\/b>.<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"11\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Visual communication<\/b>: The screen, readable even in full sunlight, informs about access authorization, anti-passback locks, or expiring credentials.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Video verification<\/b>: The built-in 4 MPx camera allows for instant verification of whether the person using the card is its actual owner. By placing the camera directly in the reader, the user naturally looks toward the lens, which significantly facilitates the work of facial recognition systems. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"12\">Mobility and Range: The EQU-MR520 Series<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Mobile systems enable wireless identity verification and access control in locations where traditional cabling is impractical or impossible.<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"14\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">LoRa Technology<\/b>: Utilizing long-range radio communication (863\u2013873 MHz), the system enables communication between the antenna module and the mobile reader over a distance of <b data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"165\">up to 200 meters<\/b> in open terrain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"14,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Multi-point Management<\/b>: The mobile reader allows for the control of up to 99 different access points.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"15\">Time &amp; Attendance (T&amp;A)<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16\">We have developed dedicated terminals for HR and workforce management systems:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"17\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"17,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"17,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">EQU-WR530 (4.3\u2033)<\/b> and <b data-path-to-node=\"17,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"22\">EQU-WR532 (7\u2033)<\/b>: Readers equipped with touchscreens that allow users to select the event type (e.g., business entry\/exit, private leave, or break).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"19\">Summary<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"20\">By providing a comprehensive suite of solutions supporting the <b data-path-to-node=\"20\" data-index-in-node=\"76\">MIFARE DUOX<\/b> standard, IFTER is setting new benchmarks in facility security.
