Transmission Security
The device implements fully digital, bidirectional, and encrypted data transmission on both the reader-to-card and reader-to-controller lines. The use of the Mifare® DUOX standard at a frequency of 13.56 MHz allows for the secure reading of credentials at a typical distance of 2 cm. The system ensures continuous integrity control of the transmitted information, eliminating the risk of communication errors.
Each reader has a unique identifier registered during the access point configuration. During this process, individual site-specific encryption keys are uploaded, and an RS485 address is assigned. Any attempt to replace the reader without following this procedure will immediately trigger an alarm, and the device will reject all cards.
Security between reader and card
The EQU-R502 offers multi-layered protection mechanisms, including symmetric AES-128 and AES-256 algorithms as well as asymmetric authentication based on ECC (NIST P-256). The reader features a unique identifier registered during configuration; any attempt at unauthorized device replacement immediately triggers an alarm and blocks card reading. Additional security measures include proximity checks to detect relay attacks and secure OSDP-SC (Secure Channel) message handling.
Durable construction
The reader housing (75 × 112.5 × 20 mm) is made of a PET-G composite with carbon fiber, ensuring high resistance to mechanical damage, atmospheric conditions, and UV radiation. The electronics are completely encapsulated in epoxy resin, which guarantees an IP65 rating and a hard, multi-layer structure of over 10 mm protecting the components.
The version with a keypad has a uniform front panel with backlit touch buttons. Each press is signaled by light and sound. The reader features a built-in buzzer and a tamper sensor.
Communication and power supply
As standard, the reader is equipped with a 4-core cable (power + RS485/OSDP).
A version with a Wiegand interface is also available – with a 10-core cable.
