Established in 1937, the Dr. Antoni Jurasz University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz is one of the largest teaching hospitals in northern Poland. It operates 24/7 as a medical, educational, and research facility. The institution provides approximately 900 beds across 26 clinics and wards, serving tens of thousands of patients annually within an extensive, multi-building campus covering about 10 hectares.
Due to the scale of operations, the continuity of work, and the critical importance of medical infrastructure, security systems in such a facility must operate uninterruptedly, clearly, and centrally, supporting the staff in their daily duties without interfering with the treatment process.
Security Challenges
In a hospital environment, the following are crucial:
- centralized supervision over numerous security systems distributed across various buildings,
- rapid identification and localization of events,
- system continuity regardless of the facility’s scale and operating mode,
- clear presentation of information for operators working 24/7.
- The security system must support technical staff and security personnel without disrupting the work of medical departments.
